It is 2:00 AM. My eyes are burning. My coffee is cold.

I have been scrolling through AliExpress for four hours. I have looked at:

  • Inflatable avocado pool floats.
  • Socks that look like pizza.
  • A machine that peels garlic (but looks like a spaceship).

I am looking for “The One.” The magical product that will make me a millionaire overnight. The “Winning Product.”

We all do this. We think that if we just search for one more hour, we will find a secret item that nobody else knows about.

But here is the truth I learned after many sleepless nights: The perfect product doesn’t exist.

You aren’t looking for magic. You are looking for a Solution.


Before you sell anything, ask these three questions. If the answer is “No” to all of them, go to sleep.

  1. Does it solve a problem? (Pain relief, saves time, makes life easier).
  2. Does it have a “Wow” factor? (Does it look cool in a video?).
  3. Is it hard to find in stores? (If I can buy it at Walmart, I won’t buy it from your website).

Example: The “Boring” vs. The “Winner”

  • Product A: A plain white t-shirt.
    • Verdict: Loser. Everyone sells this. It solves no new problem.
  • Product B: A back-stretcher device for office workers.
    • Verdict: Winner! It solves back pain. It looks weird/cool on video. You can’t usually find it at the grocery store.

You don’t need to pay $100 a month for spy software. You just need to be a detective on free websites.

Method 1: The TikTok

TikTok is the best place to find trends before they get huge.

  1. Open TikTok.
  2. Search for hashtags like #TikTokMadeMeBuyIt or #AmazonFinds.
  3. Filter by “Last 30 Days” (This is crucial! You want new trends, not old ones).
  4. Look for videos with lots of comments saying “Where can I get this?”

Why it works: If people are begging for the link in the comments, you know they want to spend money.

Method 2: The Amazon

Amazon tells you exactly what is selling right now.

  1. Go to Google and search “Amazon Movers and Shakers.”
  2. Click on a category (like “Kitchen” or “Pet Supplies”).
  3. Look at the list. These are products that have suddenly jumped in sales in the last 24 hours.

Example: If you see a specific type of “Dog Water Bottle” suddenly at #1, that is a trend you can jump on.

Method 3: The Facebook Ad Library

Did you know you can see exactly what ads other people are running?

  1. Go to the Facebook Ad Library (it’s free).
  2. Search for a generic term like “50% off” or “Free Shipping.”
  3. Look for ads that have been running for a long time (more than 2 weeks).

The Secret: If someone has been paying for an ad for 2 weeks, it means it is making money. Nobody pays for a losing ad for that long. See what they are selling and see if you can sell something similar (or better).


Don’t fall in love. This is the hardest advice.

I once found a product I loved. It was a “Shark Bed for Cats.” I thought it was the funniest thing in the world. I spent weeks building a beautiful store for it.

Nobody bought it.

I was heartbroken. I took it personally.

Don’t fall in love with the product. Fall in love with the data. If the math says people want “Ugly Orthopedic Sandals,” then sell the Ugly Orthopedic Sandals.

Your store is not a museum of things you like. It is a store for them.


If it is 2:00 AM right now, and you are reading this… stop.

You won’t find the winner tonight. Your brain is tired.

Pick one of the methods above. Spend 30 minutes on it tomorrow with a fresh brain. Pick a product that solves a problem and just test it.

The only way to know if a product is a winner is to put it in front of customers.

Now, go to bed. The internet will still be there in the morning.
